I got Kaylin all prepped and ready to go back to school today, new bag, all her toiletries and a lunch box filled with nutritional snacks. She was so excited to be seeing her little friends and teachers again after being at home for three weeks.
We got there this morning and...... the gates were closed, everything was locked up.
Boy, did I feel like a fucking idiot. I always seem to get it wrong! Why do I NEVER read the shit-arse memos?
Thing is, I looked all over the house yesterday for a newsletter to find out when the exact date that school is re-opening. I couldn't find anything, I sent a text a fellow mum who also said she thought it was today. I looked on their website and I have emailed the principal.
What else can a Mum do? Oh the boring mediocrity of being a SAHM.
I guess I should've kept the newsletter from last year. Must've been all that bullshit called clearing out and spring cleaning during the holidays.
I guess we'll have to try again tomorrow.

An Epic Dream
I had a brilliant and vivid dream last night!!!
I can't remember too many of the many intricate details that I should've written down when I woke up at 4am this morning. *sigh*. However, it was a block-buster-of-a-dream.
You those dreams that you actually wonder how your mind concocted the twists and complex plots withint the plot? The stuff that makes you realise that we really only do use a few percent of our brain power.
This is how it went:
I was a contestant in a reality TV programme where I had to attend four separate weddings. Each wedding was a different episode. At each of these weddings, there was a "target" or "mark" i.e a person was revealed that it was all just a joke (at the end of each episode). And because they were such good sports, "the mark" was award a few million dollars in order for the producers of the show to air the episode with their permission.
The strange thing was that during all this, it was always my name that got dragged through the muck and always me that was the bad, weird, freaky one. The one who pulled dirty tricks with the bridesmaids, slept with the husband on the wedding day, the one who fucked things up for everyone else. I always seemed to be the villan.
Each episode and wedding, was full of deceit and twists and always ended up the complete opposite to what you expect.
The biggest twist to the tale, was that during all these four episodes and the people who were given large somes of money, they all turned out to be professional actors. It landed up in the very end that I was THE MARK!!!
I was then offered $44 million if I agreed them to air the show and to star in the leading role of a full length movie documentary follow up.
It was crazy..and thrilling at the same time.
Gosh, what stories will my mind concoct next? Perhaps there's something I wish to observe?
Can't wait to go to bed tonight and...
dream a little dream of me....

Some Arb Stuff
I have so enjoyed being at home with my girls and my hubby for three weeks. Its been brilliant! We've done lots but we've mostly chilled at home swimming everyday - enjoying each other's company. KK goes back to school on Monday - new class, new teacher, new assistant so we are preparing for separation tantrums and lots of tears. She's going to hate me for a while and I'm going to be sobbing in the car again. I just know it.
Megan and I have a week on our own at home before she starts Grade One and I go back to work. I'm going to make the most of the week I have with her because its going to be a busy year ahead for her starting school, having homemwork every day, learning to read and write properly.
On the one hand I'm sad that she's grown up so quickly (gosh! wasn't it just yesterday that I was holding her tiny little hand in NICU for being prem?) On the other hand I can't wait to see my intelligent and sensitive little girl grow into confident Student. I can't wait to see her develop her own school interests whether it be something academic or something sporty - or both. She has so many options open to her and its going to be so interesting to see what she chooses to participate in and find out what subjects she enjoys most. Its such an exciting time for her and for Riaan and I as her parents.
