A Birthday Party

Kaylin was invited to a friend's birthday party at a local indoor party venue. 

Killian had a Ben 10 4th birthday party and everyone enjoyed the cake and Ben 10 party bags filled with toys and sweets.

I let Megan phone a friend to take with to the venue because she wasn't actually invited to the birthday party.

Megan chose Wade who has just returned from Australia after a 6 month sabatical with his mum and dad.

They were so excited to see one another again. 

Wade talked non stop and Megan was happy to see an old friend.

Boxing Day with Family

Our Boxing Day was spent with the in-laws and visiting with Andre (Riaan's Brother who lives in the UK) after two years since his last visit to South Africa. We also got to meet his girlfriend Laura who is from Lithuania but now living in the UK with Andre.

I was a lovely sunny day by the pool and eating AGAIN.  We had a lovely family lunch together.

Jumping Castle Fun

We found this inflatable jumping castle that I bought for Megan when she was a wee tot and its been hiding in our garden hut gathering dust for a good few years. 

We hauled it out, blew it up and the girls enjoyed playing with it yesterday afternoon in the garden.

Sunday Stuff

Yesterday we had friends over for a braai and it was lovely to have friends altogether. The girls were in the Jacuzzi most of the day and we karaoked with the Black Eyed Peas. My sister, Janie and Mick came over with Claire too, which was lovely.

Ritevlei Zoo Farm Spring Festival

We promised the girls we'd take them to the Rietvlei Zoo Farm Spring Festival yesterday morning. It was a beautiful sunny day and the girls had a blast. They played on the swings, the jungle gyms, bounced on the jumping castles, they fed the ducks, rode on the little choo-choo train, Megan even enjoyed a pony ride. They saw the roosters, chickens, pigs, tortoises and the resident camel. They had set up little stalls inside the venue - like a flea market - which included food stalls, garden ornaments, make up, arts and crafts and clowns, Zac the Rietvlei Farm mascot and loads more...

Its a lovely venue and they recently have done a lot of work to the place including building a new indoor play area, a putt-putt course, a lovely coffee shop with loads of gorgeous wooden outdoor play equipment. Unfortunately there is not enough shade at the venue for everyone to enjoy. There are a few shaded picnic spots dotted throughout but certainly not enough. If you are lucky enough to find a spot to sit, it is either in the direct sunshine or in the shade with no grass. Its a pity because its got so much potential.
